Varanasi, September 15– Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of the International Cricket Stadium in Varanasi on 23 September 2023. The construction of this cricket stadium will be started in Ganjri area of Varanasi. It is being told that the cost of this cricket stadium is Rs 450 crore. This stadium has a seating capacity of 30,000 spectators and will also have state-of-the-art facilities. The Board of Control for Cricket in India, active participants of the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA), and many star cricketers are also expected to participate in the foundation stone laying ceremony. This ceremony is going to be celebrated grandly and grandly.
Divisional Commissioner Kaushal Raj Sharma said, “Preparations have started for the proposed Prime Minister’s visit to Ganjri in Varanasi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of the cricket stadium on September 23. For which a grand ceremony will be organized, apart from BCCI officials, many cricketers will also participate in this ceremony. It is being said that in this ceremony, the best artists of the Kashi Sansad Cultural Festival will perform in the foundation stone laying ceremony. Whichever artist wins will also be given a prize. Players who belong to Varanasi and surrounding districts will also be invited to this event.
The drawing and design of this proposed stadium have almost been finalized by Larsen & Toubro (L&T). The final approval will be done by UPCA. After the final approval of UPCA, no objection certificates will be sought from forest, groundwater, and other departments. After which the work of building the stadium will be started soon. Details of this project and the preparation of a 3D model are expected to be completed soon. After this L&T will start the work of leveling the land and construction of boundary wall.
The state government has spent Rs 120 crore on land acquisition for this project. In the stadium costing Rs 450 crore, Rs 120 crore has been spent on land acquisition and it is being told that Rs 330 crore will be spent on building the stadium.
