With the Annual Oscars event taking place everywhere it has cemented itself on the ‘must-attend’ list for most celebrities and their calendars. For film fans, it’s a chance to see whether their favourite movies and actors have been given an award, an exciting time to see who made the cut and who didn’t. It’s also one of those events where every single outfit is analysed, and designers are keen for celebrities to wear something made by them in order to showcase their skills to the world. However, every single year different celebrities are keen to attend the Oscars – but what makes them so popular?
Being Involved in the Awards
As well as attending the awards themselves there is a definite keenness for celebrities to be involved in the event. This could be presenting an award or presenting the whole thing, although actually, the event hasn’t had an actual presenter for a number of years.
Those celebrities that don’t attend the awards for whatever reason might be tempted to share their commentary about the event as it happens on social media or even write their opinions down for a think piece after the event – it’s a big deal every year and celebrities will be keen to attend.
Celebrities Attending The Awards
You might think that who wins and doesn’t win is what everyone wants to know when it comes to an event and although this is the case for some, it’s definitely about who wore what, who looked good and who didn’t quite cut the mustard in the fashion stakes. Recently research carried about by Betway showed that a large number of celebrities come from London, New York, Paris and Rome – all cities known for their love of style and design. When you consider that so many celebrities come from places surrounded by fashion it is no surprise that they want to use such an event to showcase their own style.
Award Winners
Of course, we can’t forget that the event is an awards ceremony and therefore who wins and who doesn’t is up there on the list of importance. Generally, each year reveals a shock result or two, which gets people talking – and wondering whether the next Oscars will be just as surprising in the winner’s stakes.
New York is home to winners of 48 awards in total, with London in 2nd place with 31 award winners. Paris, Philadelphia and Hungary also make it into the top 5. These are all cities that have birthed famous actors but also places where those that have carved themselves out an acting career might choose to live. Paris, London and New York certainly have plenty of accommodation options that might suit someone that wants to live the highlife and make the most of their celebrity status. So, whether that is Oscar winners, actors wanting to get there or someone else entirely you can be sure that stars will want to attend The Oscars each year and that isn’t something that is likely to change any time soon!
