On the second day of his visit to Singapore, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today held a meeting with his counterpart Lawrence Wong. During this meeting, both the leaders discussed ways to promote bilateral relations between India and Singapore. The leaders of both the countries agreed to elevate the relations between the two countries to a comprehensive strategic partnership.
Let us tell you that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Singapore on a two-day visit at the invitation of Wong. Prime Minister Modi was formally welcomed at the Singapore Parliament House and after that he held talks with Wong. In the Parliament House, PM Modi and Singapore PM Lawrence Wong met ministers and representatives of each other’s countries. There they also signed the visitor’s book. This meeting between the two leaders took place a few days after Modi started his third term as Prime Minister and Wong became the Prime Minister of Singapore. Singapore and India have become strategic partners after the meeting of the two leaders. This achievement is a major achievement for India strategically.

In a social media post, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that a new chapter in relations: Comprehensive Strategic Partnership was established. PM Modi and PM Lawrence Wong held a fruitful meeting in Singapore today. The heads of state of both the countries agreed to enhance the relations between the two countries through a comprehensive strategic partnership such as various aspects of the areas of advanced manufacturing, health care and medicine, digitalization, connectivity, skill development and sustainability, etc. Various aspects of these areas were comprehensively reviewed between the heads of state of both the countries.
After meeting with Lawrence Wong, PM Modi shared pictures on the social media platform X and wrote, “Discussions continued with my friend, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong today as well. The interaction between the two of us focused on enhancing cooperation in skills, technology, AI, health care and other areas.”
To further strengthen the cooperation between the two countries, major agreements (MoUs) were signed between India and Singapore in the field of digital technology, semiconductors, health cooperation and skill development.
The India-Singapore Semiconductor Ecosystem Partnership includes an MoU between the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Singapore and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of India.

An MoU was signed between Singapore’s Ministry of Digital Development and Information and India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology for cooperation in the field of digital technology.
An agreement was reached between Singapore’s Ministry of Education and India’s Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship for educational cooperation and skill development. An agreement was signed between Singapore’s Ministry of Health and India’s Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for cooperation in the field of health and medicine.
On Thursday, Prime Minister Modi met Singapore’s PM Wong and discussed ways to promote bilateral relations. During his meeting with Wong, PM Modi expressed his desire to create many Singapores in India.
He said that Singapore is an inspiration for every developing country. We also want to create many Singapores in India. I am happy that we are working together in that direction.
